The stars have retreated into their majestic dwelling,
Clearing the Milky Way for the symphony of our kindred spirits,
As they flicker into the deep unknown,
Surrounded by mysteries unread,
We’re two hearts locked in a slow-motion dance.
I need more of this quiet storm,
Brew me a fountain of this reckoning,
A simmering mug of Arabica, its warmth beckoning.
Sweep me away in a hurricane of glorious thunder,
What God has put together, no man ought to rip asunder.
Let the chaos of love’s sweep, like a violent ocean tide,
Launch us into the great deep, and there we shall hide, or just abide.
Every word you speak echoes into eternity,
Carrying with it secrets of the past, and prophecies of the days yonder.
Bear this love of mine into infinity,
For there’s so much about which I ponder,
Like how you were formed as such a wonder,
And which part you form in the divine trinity.
How then shall we find our groove?
What must I do to prove?
Or improve, for you to approve,
For our stars to glow as one in affection,
As our hearts collide, each, the other’s selection,
A deep soul connection,
With no need to hide, even in my imperfection.
Shall we then begin,
In this galaxy of enchanted waters? Trace its source close to your old house,
And drink from the brook of life,
A sip from the Nile, a place so benign,
Whose alchemy you espouse.
A divine queen from the East,
As feminine as she’s beast.
Now, the king’s beloved spouse.
A wild bridge,
Waters fierce with rage,
A stone city coming of age.
Here, forever she lives on my page.
Oh! To be, a wild bridge!
